About Inspire

Inspire supports libraries in working together to improve access to information and learning for all.

There are now almost 3500 Inspire libraries throughout England as well as an expanding group in Northern Ireland. These libraries are all committed to supporting learning in its widest sense and together they provide an open route to the information and inspiration library users are seeking, wherever it may be found.

Inspire libraries include public, higher education and national libraries plus further education libraries, health related libraries and a wide range of specialist libraries. Together they provide a hugely rich and varied resource of information on every subject from Accountancy to Zoology and they are open to all to use.

To make access to this information easier, the Findit! website was been created as part of the Inspire programme. Findit! is the key to finding which library holds the information you or any member of the public seeks. Findit! currently holds information on over 1300 collections in libraries in all parts of the country and is continuing to expand its coverage.
