Libraries in the North West has a history of co-operative working and nspire links the many local co-operative groups together making the rich resources available to library users based in Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside available to all.

All North West library and information services are invited to join INSPIRE.

This region was one of the pilot areas for Inspire with demonstrator projects on Merseyside and in Cumbria. Reports on these pilots are available here.

As a result of these pilots, the AddLib scheme in Cumbria was established opening public, HE, FE and health libraries to learners across the county.
