During 2004, the West
Midlands was one of the pilot regions for Inspire. The three pilot areas within the region were Coventry,
Stoke-on-Trent and Wolverhampton and Inspire builds on their experience both nationally and locally. Inspire has attracted a high level
of commitment from libraries in the West Midlands
with 100% sign up from the public and HE libraries, as well
as strong support from FE, health and special libraries.
The
Monitoring and Operational Group (MOG) for Inspire in the
West Midlands meets several times a year and is made up of representatives
of the key library stakeholders in the region. The MOG
liaises with a network of sub-regional library
clusters from across the West Midlands.
