Herefordshire and Worcestershire Inspire
launch
Libraries are Inspiring
Inspired Motorcyclist To Dash Between Two Counties' Libraries
A new scheme to promote the use of libraries is being launched in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The project, called Inspire, is part of a national programme and allows people registered with one library to use all the other participating libraries in the two counties, the West Midlands and the whole of England. A range of libraries are part of Inspire, including ones from the public, university, further education, health and independent sectors. The libraries involved hope that it will make people more aware of what is available to the public. Users are entitled to reference access in the libraries they visit. Additional services may be available from some libraries. The launch will be on Wednesday 15th November 2006.
To celebrate the launch local poet Michael Mable will be going on a cross counties motorcycle dash visiting some of the participating libraries. His ride will begin at Worcester Cathedral Library and end at Hereford Cathedral Library where he will read a poem he has written for the event.
Michael will be visiting libraries at the following places Worcester Cathedral, Worcester College of Technology, Worcester Royal Hospital, University of Worcester, Malvern Public Library, The Bromyard Centre, Herefordshire College of Technology, Hereford County Hospital and Hereford Cathedral.
Information on the participating libraries can be found via the project website www.inspire2.org.uk. Information about the collections held in each library is available from the related website www.findit.org.uk.
